In Omaha, the rules of the game are just like the poker that is played in the hold’em version. The only difference lies in the number of cards that are dealt with here. Whereas in hold’em you are dealt 2 cards, in Omaha you would typically be dealt 4 cards.

In another version is known as the Razz, the players are dealt with four cards. Out of these four cards, two cards would be dealt face down while the other two cards would be dealt face up. Betting occurs so that at the end the players are provided with seven cards. Of these seven cards four cards are dealt face up and three are dealt face down. The person who has attained the lowest five hands is the person who gets to claim the winning position. The seven card stud is another version of the game. In fact the rules are exactly the same. The only difference here lies that the winner is the one who wins the highest hands or the best five card hand. There is another variation called the eight or better or stud eight that is the played with the same rules. The game uses eight cards. However, the winnings are shared by both the person with the highest hands and the lowest hands. 

Together these different variations of poker is known as the H.O.R.S.E. H stands for Hold’em, O for Omaha, R for Razz, S for seven studs, E for eight studs. Now, that you know about each of the variation you will not be lost when you play the game.
